Participatory and Co-creative Approaches in the Context of Research and Digital Technologies Targeting Informal Caregivers and Caring Communities – Protocol for Two Systematic Scoping Reviews
In order to identify, clarify and map key theories, frameworks, models, concepts and conceptualizations, approaches, methodologies and methods for participatory and co-creative research and the development, implementation and evaluation of digital technologies two scoping reviews with different perspectives will be conducted. The term digital technologies is understood here as overarching and includes any socio-technical innovation and digital technology-supported intervention. The objectives of the reviews are: Review 1 (R1): To provide an overview and systematization of theories, frameworks, models, concepts and conceptualizations, approaches, methodologies and methods of various disciplines for participation/co-creation targeting informal caregivers and caring communities. Review 2 (R2): To provide an overview and systematization of participatory/co-creative approaches of various disciplines for developing, piloting, implementing and evaluating digital technologies targeting informal caregivers and caring communities.

Reflexionsräume in der partizipativen Technologieentwicklung mit informell Pflegenden und Sorgegemeinschaften
Buchbeschreibung: Partizipation hat eine große gesellschaftliche Bedeutung, um soziale, politische oder wirtschaftliche Ungleichheit zu verringern. Der Einbezug von Nutzer*innen in die Entwicklung digitaler Technologien nimmt auch im Kontext von Gesundheit einen zunehmend höheren Stellenwert ein. Partizipative Technikentwicklung ist ein diverses Feld mit vielfältigen Methoden und heterogenen Zielgruppen. Neben dem unterschiedlichen Verständnis von „Partizipation“ besteht Unsicherheit, wie der Ansatz der partizipativen Technikentwicklung in Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojekten konkret umgesetzt werden kann. Das Buch fokussiert die partizipative Technikentwicklung mit Bezug zum Sozial- und Gesundheitswesen. Es adressiert Forscher*innen, Entwickler*innen und Studierende aus verschiedenen Disziplinen und Anwendungsfeldern wie u.a. die Gesundheitswissenschaften, Medizin, Pflege- und Therapieberufe. Die Autor*innen nehmen sowohl eine theoretische als auch eine anwendungsbezogene Perspektive auf das Thema ein: Ihre Beiträge orientieren sich an zentralen Prinzipien und Wirkweisen in Verbindung mit partizipativer Technikentwicklung. Sie stellen konkrete Methoden und Ansätze partizipativer Technikentwicklung vor, die sich in Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojekten anwenden lassen.

Deconstruction and Reflection in Participatory Research and Design–A Multidisciplinary Perspective
Sociotechnical innovations are often proposed as solutions for societal challenges. To effectively address diverse perspectives, needs, and requirements of target groups, early involvement of the latter in the development of digital systems is deemed useful. Respective participatory approaches hold promise, but they are complex and demanding. Therefore, it is crucial to recognize collective reflection on assumptions and beliefs as an integral part of participatory activities. This reflection helps to address hidden assumptions that might impact participation and the subsequent technology development. This paper discusses two methods in terms of their potential to critically reflect and broaden the possibilities of technology development by breaking down preconceptions and stereotypes.
